Good dramatic comedy - The Sting Reviews

This is a movie that I wish I could see for the first time...again and again. The music is wonderful, but Scott Joplin is not from the period of the movies events. The story twists and turns. The Paul and Robert acting combination is superb. Must see.

Always a favorite - The Sting Reviews

It is humerous to read the reviews of those who are just discovering this film. I am pleased that it continues to enrapture new fans.

Good - The Sting Reviews

pretty good....the first movie that really required following the plot...and it was well done....some parts you got, and some kept you puzzled....overall a great movie...a tad bit on the long side, but still outstanding....great performance

See it twice! - The Sting Reviews

See this movie twice. Not only because you'll enjoy as much the second time, but you'll need that extra viewing to fully understand the story. In the plot to confuse their "mark," the protagonists also confuse the viewer, who isn't in on everything until the end. Good acting and great visuals (costumes, sets). Fantastic music. Every time you see this movie, you'll appreciate it more. So enjoy it, and enjoy it again. And again! I never tire of it. One of my all-time favorites.

A good old classic - The Sting Reviews

It is not the greatest movie of all times but has a perfect combination between the story and its good interpretation from all the actors in the cast. Gives good entertainment.

Intelligent heist, - The Sting Reviews

I saw it in 73 and still it stands out as a truly finny and ??good guys win?? scenario. on par with and as funny as Danny Kaye and others before this time. In to-days blood and special Branch flicks the Sting is one of the roses on the dump.rose on the dump. General, not review: To-days movies are polarized, - good or bad, and really horribly bad. There are more of cat.2 which shows that we are making our environm more brutal and blunt.

Huge disapointment - The Sting Reviews

I could not believe how bad this movie was. My wife quit watching half way through, but I stuck it out. What a waste! The actors acted like they were acting. I'm going back to books.

Simply a classic - The Sting Reviews

This has been one of my favorites since age 9. The story is fantastic, especially Newman and Robert Shaw. The visuals are well-done, as well. One can watch this film fifty-three times and pick up something new each viewing.

The sting - The Sting Reviews

The sting The movie The Sting is a 1973 con artist movie, for its time it was an out standing movie. The movie had some of the best actors of its time Academy award winners, Paul Newman, Robert Redford, Robert Shaw, Charles Durning, Ray Walston, and Eileen Brennan. Director: George Roy hill. The sting is overall a good movie; the movie had a lot of drama and action. The way the cons always get there man and how they plan every thing. All the acting falls right in to place, with all the detail and it seemed like the characters had fun with their sense. The acting was outstanding I would have never guessed what any of the characters was up to until the time came. The plans and tricks played a good part with all the acting. All the sate ups keep the movie going. The story lines and how everything falls into place Reminds me of the movie Oceans11. The drama, action, the acting the money everything about the movie I give it 2 Tums up. And I feel if you like gangster movie you?ll like this movie. The Sting is a movie that I can watch over and over aging and I say you should watch it too.

My favorite movie ever - The Sting Reviews

This is a one of a kind movie. The acting is supurb...the plot engrossing. I watch this movie over and over and never get bored of it. I was only 2 years old when this movie came out yet it is by far my favorite movie ever.

Best con-movie ever - The Sting Reviews

"The Sting" is a great, classic, hilarious movie that goes down as one of the best ever. There isn't much to say about this classic. It brings a great storyline of a huge sting operation to earn hefty sums of money to fool even the Feds. The comedy is also near perfect, giving laughs to first, second, and even third-time seers. Outstanding acting caps off this four-star movie. And there isn't a doubt in most people's minds that this movie is definately deserving of all four.

The greatest caper - The Sting Reviews

Twists and turns abound in this classic con artist film that still has not been topped and has only been copied at best. Redford and Newman literally look like they are having fun for two plus hours along with the rest of the cast. It has such a breezy attitude that you can't help be caught up in its flair.

Skeptical at first, but amazing. - The Sting Reviews

My mom suggested I watch this movie a few years ago, and I was quite skeptical. However, I let her convince me to watch it, and thank God I did. The acting is superb, the storytelling is amazing. This is truly one of the best movies ever. Don't read any more reviews, just go see it.

A great classic with fantastic actors - The Sting Reviews

I recently rewatched the film classic The Sting. It happened just by chance that i went to blockbuster and looked at the new releases and just got fed up with the crap coming out these days. It was time to go back when a good plot and great acting captured you in, not fancy visuals. The Sting is a great movie to just watch and enjoy everything about. Two of the greatest actors, expecially when they work together, Paul Newman and Robert Redford shine in this movie. Anyone who rates this movie poorly cleary is just upset that it didnt have 30 more twist and turns and maybe some explosions in it. Some people just need to get a clue about what good filmaking is, The Sting is just that.

One of the best! - The Sting Reviews

One of the best movies ever made! Why isn't it in AFI's top 100 American movies list?? This movie is almost flawless. The viewer is in on the con the whole way and then at the end, George Roy Hill cons us. Just great.

One of the best - The Sting Reviews

One of the best films of all time, great acting, good story line, great period film. On the short list of 10 films that everybody likes.

Heading back to the classic rack at the video stor - The Sting Reviews

After the last few visits to the video store I felt I was throwing my money away at the new releases. So I ventured to the movie classic rack and rented the Sting for 1 American dollar. I have to admit I think I ripped of the video store. If all the old classics are as good as this movie, I will be saving alot of money renting movies for only a dollar.

Truly great - The Sting Reviews

This movie is extremely great in almost all areas and no one should vote this movie below an A-. If they do they do not understand classic movies at all.

My personal favorite - The Sting Reviews

The 1973 film The Sting which starred Robert Redford, Paul Newman and Robert shaw is an amazing, spectacular and utterlly entertaining. The Sting is my personal favorite film of al time. This is the godfather of all con movies, twist endings, double cross films, screen duos and "I-Should-of-Seen-That-One-Coming" slapstick comedy.

Fan - friggin' - tastic - The Sting Reviews

This film was released 30 years ago (well before I was born) and is still great. It is one of the few films that truly stands up well over time. I defy anyone to watch it now and not find it amazing. I was interested the entire time, from beginning to end. No dull moments. Brilliant story, brilliant direction, brilliant acting, brilliant score...and just a downright cool movie.

A must-see classic - The Sting Reviews

If you have yet to see this classic film, you're missing out big-time. Paul Newman is amazing and you get he feeling that you are learning the tricks of the trade from him from him. Robert Redford yet another amazing actor who plays out an excellent role.

You truly think you're in the 30's - The Sting Reviews

One of my favorite scenes in this movie is the poker game. It is filmed and acting masterfully. Although this movie had some boring parts, I thought it was a very well made movie, and I enjoyed it.
